The Biggest Problem Doctors Face
As a specialist in healthcare marketing, one thing I’ve consistently heard from doctors is that what frustrates them most is that they are only able to spend about 10 minutes with each patient.
During those 10 minutes, doctors must define and redefine complicated medical terminology rather than educate and support patients. To compound this, recent research has found that patients retain less than 30% of what they’re told in the exam room. This means that patients often leave confused and anxious, feeling that they were not able to have their questions answered fully. By the time the next appointment comes around, doctors must often start from the beginning instead of being free to discuss new information and treatment strategies.
After hearing of this problem over and over again, I created a simple follow-up tool called Informed that leverages video to improve patient education efficiently.
